Fixing right-click issues

Recommended Posts

For those of you with issues right-clicking with the client, you may need to have your Java version re-assigned.

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of java installed https://www.java.com/download/
  2. Download and launch this application http://johann.loefflmann.net/downloads/jarfix.exe

The executable file has been verified to be safe.

If you're still having client issues, try out our general fixes guide:

(Adding in the Mac guide below this) Original: https://spawnpk.net/forums/index.php?/topic/10196-right-click-not-working-other-client-issues-fix-for-mac/

Step 1. Go to the "Finder" on your dock.

Step 2. In the search bar type "Utilities" and scroll down until you find the utilities folder, open it.

Step 3. In another window open /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/  find what version of JDK you have. If it is over JDK9.(something) this is your issue.

Step 4. Go to the first window with your version of JDK in mind and open your terminal, entering the following commands:

sudo rm -fr /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/JDK_FOLDER_NAME_HERE
sudo rm -fr /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin
sudo rm -fr /Library/PreferencePanes/JavaControlPanel.prefPane

Make sure that in the first line you replace "JDK_FOLDER_NAME_HERE" with the name of the folder(s) that are higher than JDK version 8

Step 5. Go here... http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html and download Java SE Development Kit 8u161 for macOSX.

Step 6. Finish the install, reboot the client and presto, all your problems are solved.

Can you get a fix to this for Mac users?

Downloading the JRE Java just makes me unable to open the client, so I must have JDK to be able to play. The Jarfix application is also for windows users, so I can't use that either. None of the guides in the general fixes thread work either.

Well I can't figure it out, sadly I can't play the server if I can't right click, and I have literally spent about 2hrs trying to figure it out.

Quite sorry my solution didn't help you as it did for me. I'd just repeat the steps one more time can't hurt =/ really want everyone to be able to play server.

Downgrade your Java to 8.1.

Hi, I just joined and I have the same issue except the current java version is 10.0.1 and when I put in the Mac fix (I am on mac) into the terminal and replace /jdk-9.jdk/" with "jdk-9.(your version).jdk/ which is jdk-10.0.1.jkd/] I get an error, sudo: command not found. Perhaps you could help me find a fix?

Try changing your Java down to 8.1.

Downloading an older version should uninstall the current version, you may have to manually delete/uninstall your current version.

The entire past Java archive can be found here

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/archive-139210.html

All versions of 8 can be found here (there's over 150+ different API's, but I think the newest 8.1 may work "Java SE Runtime Environment 8u162")

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/java-archive-javase8-2177648.html

Thankyou so much.

I had to create an oracle account, download the thing you sent. Then I repeated the first 3 steps from the original post, that showed me that I still had Version 10 download as well as the one you linked me. I deleted that and kept the one you linked me and it works perfectly. Thankyou so much man, this deserves to be pinned because it is the most uptodate way of solving this for mac :).

This one should work. Posted by Ryan himself and has a step by step guide
