I died to vile ven.  I lost a din's bulwark and swift gloves. I returned 20 seconds later to get my things and my items weren't on the ground anywhere, not outside the lair, not inside the lair, or anywhere in the exit. They just vanished instantly, I wasn't in any pvp related conflict during this trip or even remotely close to the time of death.
