Swords of Sacrifice (Mini-event)

For 21 days, the swords of sacrifice mini-event will be active on SpawnPK! Simply speak with the Lady of the Lake at home to begin!

It simply requires you to have 10+ achievements completed in order to participate.

This mini-event involves limited time currency in similar fashion to seasonal events -- but with a more straight-forward task and reward system. Being a mini-event, it is far easier for majority of players to obtain the essential / exclusive items by simply doing the event.

Every 24 hours, you can complete a set of basic PvP tasks and PvM tasks. Each task grants you sacrificial coins. Completing all of the tasks in any of the two categories (PvP or PvM) will provide you bonus/additional coins

You can either sell these coins to players, or spend it at the shop.

The shop has a limited stock per account that does not reset.

Meaning, once you've purchased all of the items in the shop, you've essentially completed the event. (You still, of course, have the option to sell your coins to other players if there are still remaining days left of the event)

It also includes a set of new & exclusive weapons, including but not limited to:

  • Sword of sacrifice (rage)
    • Damages wielder by 5% of damage dealt
    • Damage and cap is boosted by 0.3% per hp missing (this boost is doubled in PvM)
    • Prayer is restored by 10% of damage dealt
       
  • Sword of sacrifice (hope)
    • Damages wielder by 5% of damage dealt
    • Damage taken reduced by 0.3% per hp missing (this reduction is doubled in PvM)
    • Reduces enemy defence by 10% of damage dealt
       
  • Sword of sacrifice (despair)
    • Obtained by enchanting x3 hope swords and x3 rage swords
    • Inherits effects of both the hope & rage sword of sacrifice
       

GPU / OpenGL Mode (Beta)

We are excited to finally release a public version of the GPU/OpenGL mode!

For some background on why its beneficial and what it does:

  • Traditionally, the game client only uses 1 core of your CPU to render the game (while most modern games today use your GPU / video card)
  • As a result, performance was always bottlenecked, ESPECIALLY in modes like resizable / fullscreen.
    • On a relatively decent gaming PC, this mode can render at over 100+ FPS even in populated areas

Benefits & features of this mode:

  • This mode will pass over most of the "work" to your video card, which should grant a huge performance boost! Especially in resizable / fullscreen mode!
  • The better your video card, the better the results! (Unlike before, where your video card would not make any difference)
  • FPS can now be uncapped, which can provide a much more fluid feel for the game
  • Features like anti-aliasing and aniostropic filtering improve the visuals!
  • We have included our own particle system to the OpenGL renderer, which should also have some visual improvements compared to non-gpu
  • OpenGL includes support for multiple colorblind correction modes!
  • Stretched mode for fixed window mode, allowing you to scale the game client to any size you like!

NOTE: While this mode has been tested for over a month in closed beta within our staff team, we strongly recommend to proceed with caution. This feature is in OPEN BETA, meaning you may run into some bugs / issues along the way (and we'd really like you to report them!).

If you plan to do any high risk PKing, use this mode at your own risk!

To use this feature, simply enable it via the "GPU (Beta)" tab in your side panel

Bounty Hunter

  • Added a new Bounty rewind scroll to the point shop for 500,000 bounties
    • Untradeable, stackable scroll
    • When consumed, it will guarantee your next bounty task to be the last one you completed (Task kill count is still randomized)
    • Works for both standard and cursed bounty hunter tasks
    • Can only rewind once every 15 minute
       
  • Added a new Mystery scroll to the point shop for 25,000,000 bounties
    • Permanently unlocks a perk that grants a 1/10 chance to receive Mystery crates from BH kills
       
  • Increased the bounty reward for the red skull bounty task to 2,500,000 bounties
     
  • Updated a variety of prices in the store, to better reflect their current value
     
  • Removed some redundant items from the shop
     

Cursed Bounty Hunter

  • Added a new Cursed mystery scroll to the point shop for 25,000,000 cursed bounties
    • Permanently unlocks a perk that grants a 1/10 chance to receive Cursed mystery crates from Cursed BH kills
       
  • Added a new Weekly shop to the cursed bounty hunter store
    • Only a certain amount of items can be bought from this shop per account, per week
    • We are starting with a small amount of item (see below) but may add more in the future!
       
  • Added an untradeable Pet fuse box to the Weekly shop for 500,000,000 cursed bounties
    • Only one can be purchased a week
    • To avoid excessive bypass of this limit, the purchase also requires 50 achievements to be unlocked
       
  • Added new Cursed totems to the Weekly shop for 10,000,000 cursed bounties
    • A tradeable, stackable item that can be exchanged for cursed bounties at shop value (10M)
    • The weekly stock is limited to x5 per week, to reduce excess circulation of bounties in the player market
       
  • Updated a variety of prices in the cursed bounty store, to better reflect their current value
  • Removed some redundant items from the shop
     

Hotspot Improvements & Additions

  • Deep Wild Hotspot
    • The superior chance boost now only works for wilderness bosses, and no longer works for superior blood-revenants
       
    • Wildywyrm, Revenant Caves, and Mage Arena hotspots are now all packed into Deep Wild hotspot (rather than being separate hotspots). This should provide far more room for the favored hotspots!

  • Hotspot point shop changes and additions:
    • Added new Glorious crown for 5,000 points
      • Increases hotspot points earned by +2 when equipped
      • Autokeep and untradeable, similar stats to a neit. faceguard
         
    • Added new Glorious bounty cape for 1,000 points
      • Increses hotspot points earned by +1 when equipped
      • Tradeable, and has the same stats and effects as a bounty cape
      • Can be enchanted with x1 Eternal bounty cape and x3 Glorious bounty capes to create a Glorious eternal cape
        • In addition to having the same effects, stats, and autokeep as an Eternal bounty cape, it provides +2 points per kill instead of +1
           
    • Reduced beginner caskets to 50 points
    • Reduced medium caskets to 125 points
    • Reduced blood caskets to 250 points

  • New glorious casket rewards:
    • Hotspot Key Scroll II
      • Unlocks a 1/10 chance for blood key drops via hotspot kills to automatically upgrade into Grand blood keys
      • Can only be claimed if you have Hotspot Key Scroll I unlocked
         
    • Hotspot Point Scroll II
      • Permanently increases points from hotspot kills by +5 (total, does not stack with scroll 1)
      • Can only be claimed if you have Hotspot Point Scroll II unlocked
         
  • Decreased the vote skip requirement to 50 votes
     
  • The hotspot cycle system will guarantee a unique hotspot every roll
    • Hotspots are blocked from being repeated for two cycles after they become active
       
  • Point bonus for blood orb now applies after the 2X scroll bonus
    • This was a necessary integrity change, as the blood orb bonus has a far exceeded amount when doubled
    • Other point bonuses, such as from gear & unlocks, will still apply before the 2X scroll bonus
       

Blood Slayer

  • Blood slayer d'hide has been re-modeled
    • Given a slightly more "slayer-esque" look, with spikes on the shoulders and arms
       
  • NEW Blood slayer robes
    • Requires Rank 20 blood slayer, and 500 points per piece
    • Same stats as Ahrim's robes top and bottom
    • Provides a +2.5% chance (per piece) for a task kill to count as two
    • Also inherits the drop rate bonus of mythic robes (if you own the respective piece)
       
  • NEW Blood slayer plate armor
    • Requires Rank 20 blood slayer, and 1,000 points per piece
    • Same stats as Obsidian platebody and legs
    • Provides a +2.5% chance (per piece) for a task kill to count as two
    • Also inherits the drop rate bonus of mythic plate armor (if you own the respective piece)
       
  • NEW Blood slayer icon
    • Requires Rank 35 blood slayer, and 6,750 points
    • Deal +2.5% PvM damage against blood slayer targets
    • Receive a 1/10 chance (1/5 in PvP) to earn +5 blood slayer points from a Blood slayer task kill

Kharazi (Monthly resets)

On the 1st day of every month at 9:00 AM CST, everyone's Kharazi items go to the main world (coffer/bank). This includes storage items, and inventory/equipment items if your account is in Kharazi at the time of the reset. 

The first reset will go into effect as soon as this update releases, and will continue on its scheduled period from that point forward

We are doing this in order to create a more even playing-field for the minigame (especially for new players), as well as create an exciting clean slate every month. You can type ::kharazi in-game at any time to see exactly how long until the next reset.

In addition, the Nazastrool boss mechanic has been fixed so that it can no longer be safespotted, and is now slightly more difficult with an extra zombie spawn in his lair.

General Patch Notes

  • Swift gloves proc changes
    • The swift glove proc now has multiple layers of balancing, particularly in PvP
    • The swift proc can no longer occur on the same hit as a special attack or bolt special
    • (PVP ONLY) The additional hit from swift gloves now has reduced damage scaled to the weapon's strength, as well as reduced chance depending on the weapon's attack speed
    • (PVP ONLY) Although the chances are far less likely with these new balances, the total damage between the two hits of a swift glove proc is globally capped at 90 damage
       
  • New Rare PvP treasure: Lucky upgrade scroll
    • Gives permanent +5% drop rate and a +2.5% chance to receive double loot from donator mystery boxes/bags/chests
    • In addition, this upgrade scroll is also obtainable from the Superior blood-revenant grand drop table
       
  • New blood core shop items:
    • Rain cloud death taunt (10,00 tokens)
    • Blood reaper death taunt (25,000 tokens)
    • Gold reaper death taunt (50,000 tokens)
       
  • Hunger games
    • Swift bow (t) added to the shop for 2,500 HG points
      • Slightly stronger than a standard swift bow
    • Shop prices slightly reduced for some items to better represent their value
    • Epic pet boxes added to the shop for 250 HG points each
    • Push-ups death taunt added to the shop for 1,000 HG points each
    • Chicken dance death taunt added to the shop for 1,000 HG points each
       
  • Fixed some outdated prices for the following shops
    • Donator ticket shop
    • Vote point shop
    • Magic token shop
    • Bounty / Cursed Bounty (previously mentioned)
    • Hotspot point shop (previously mentioned)
       
  • Undead pker drop table changes
    • Super combat potions and anglers added to the drop table
    • Removed the goodie bags & cash bags drops from the table (Integrity change: This was intended to be a beginner monster but has become an unintended OP money making method for end-game players with grand rings and fast kill potential)
       
  • Epic pet mystery boxes
    • Now have a 1/1,000 chance to receive a pet fuse box when opening
    • This is not included in the collection log, as we don't intend to increase its difficulty to that degree
       
  • Monster spawner
    • Kills at the monster spawner give "monster tickets" (x1 per kill)
    • You can exchange the tickets for various items:
      • x2 tickets: 100M bag
      • x10 tickets: Point mystery box
      • x100 tickets: Donator mystery box
         
  • Ancient hydra pet
    • Removed the charge system (it's no longer necessary)
    • Reverted spit cooldown back to the way it was
      • Instead of a long spit cooldown, it simply won't have a chance to activate until you're 10+ seconds in to a fight
         
  • Changes to Dark callisto
    • Increased the chance of Dark Callisto's knockback attack
    • Dark Callisto's attacks will now sap your magic level
       
  • Bonds have been reduced from grand crests
     
  • Added better rewards to killing bots
    • In addition, you can now receive blood money bonuses from bot kills (total BM is halved compared to regular kills, and capped at 25)
       
  • Added a "collect all rewards" button to the achievement interface, which will collect all unclaimed completed achievements
     
  • Lowered the damage requirement for Hunllef, Nightmare, and Nex kill credit
    • With that being said, the hitpoints have increased for the superior variant of all three of these bosses
       
  • Lowered the damage from Nex's deflect prayer, and lowered her deflection's damage cap to 25.
     
  • Removed the tick delay between Cursed Fang's special attack & next hit
     
  • Changed the daily bag raffle reward to an Elite package rather than the cash pot, and changed the entry fee from 1,000 bags to 750 bags
    • An elite package opens for:
      • $100 bond
      • Ultimate mystery chest
         
  • The monthly vote raffle will now re-activate every month (it was apparently disabled)
     
  • Loot keys now collect PK rewards and treasures, such as blood money drops
     
  • Added a new shop interface, which should visually display the price of each item under its icon
    • In addition, the new interface has a search feature and a higher item capacity than before
       
  • Added a better interface for the Blood Shard and Blood Diamond price guides, with a search feature (similar to the bloodcore price guide interface)
     
  • Added a new "accomplishment" overlay, which displays when you do the following:
    • Unlock a new collection log item
    • Complete an achievement
    • Complete a daily money making activity
    • Complete an adventure book task (more info on adventure book is further below in the update topic)
       
  • You can now right-click "wield/wear" equipment items in your inventory while you're accessing your bank

Bug Fixes

  • Avarice (i) and shade genie pet
    • The amulet of avarice (i), as an exception item, would cause you to protect your other 2 most valuable items on death even without a blood orb risk. Causing there to be no difference with or without one. After this fix, you will now require a blood orb in order to do so.
       
  • Fixed various bugs with freeze spells, particularly with freeze registrations and ice barrage orb displays etc.
     
  • Fixed a bug where the freeze timer overlay would not show when frozen by a ZGS spec
     
  • Fixed a bug with yoshi pets & GLB causing you to retrieve items while dying
    • This would lead to players, for example, purposefully dying in the Blood Slayer Cave to avoid the intentionally dangerous trip home
    • As a result, we've made it so yoshi & GLB will not proc when dying in the wilderness
       
  • Fixed an issue with grand comp cape (range) giving more drop rate bonus than intended
     
  • Fix soul hunter crown / cape effect not working
     
  • Fixed a visual bug with BoFA randomly changing to a dark color
     
  • Fixed bugs with objects sometimes not properly appearing, such as webs at Mage Bank

     

Vintage mode change

While vintage mode (originally "welfare mode") was an effort with positive intent for new players, it's simply not a desired mode to play by the majority of active players. And for some new players, it can be rather overwhelming to understand.

As a result, we've removed Vintage as a mode and are now strictly keeping it as a dungeon/cave.

Not only is it easier to understand (essentially a wildy zone with item restrictions, or a "Blood slayer cave" for beginners) but it also allows us to narrow our focus and not spend much time trying to fix it as an entire mode.

With that being said, we've made improvements to the dungeon itself:

  • Improved the drop tables for every monster in the dungeon
  • You can now pick up vintage slayer tasks from Nieve (inside the dungeon) for vintage dungeon monsters
  • Vintage dungeon is now a 30 minute hotspot (it will always be only 30 mins, as opposed to the typical 2-3 hours)
  • Changed the weekly and daily tasks to earning points & tickets instead of kills
  • Vintage bonus scrolls now also give +25% tickets
  • Added a new Dailies reset scroll to the vintage weekly shop (limited stock per week)
    • When consumed, it will reset all of your completed daily money making activities, as well as the expiration timer & bonus tasks
    • This scroll is not tradeable. It's recommended to earn vint. tickets or buy them from players to obtain this scroll

 

The Adventure Book

SpawnPK can have a pretty steep learning curve, and our data has shown from recent advertising that new players join with uncertainty on what direction to take. While making money is rather easy, all of our custom systems and items can (at first) feel rather overwhelming to fresh eyes, without proper guidance.

To help fix this, we've created a new system called the Adventure Book, which all new accounts are now instructed to begin when they first join. It consists of up to eight chapters, containing tasks that essentially reward you for jumping into SpawnPK's custom content (at an incremental & chronological pace)

For players who've already been playing SpawnPK for a while, there is still elements to this that you can enjoy!

  • Majority of tasks that require unlocks, etc. will auto-complete for you when you login if you meet the requirements
  • On the final chapter, you will unlock a repeatable chapter called "Daily comissions" which give you a set of tasks relatively end-game activities
    • Consider it a new set of daily activities that you've unlocked for your accounts progression!
    • Completing all of your daily comissions will earn you Adventurer coins which can be spent at a weekly shop

The Item Guide / Library

We've updated the interface for the item guide (::items) and with the help of our moderator Scooby, added over 50 items that were previously missing.

The guides are now simplified to just how to obtain the item, and whether they're autokeep and/or untradeable (since their effects / stats are viewable on hover)

Damage Bonus Overhaul

We've been re-writing a lot of our core combat code, and this overhaul is one of the first results. Nearly every weapon script in-game involving effects or bonuses have been re-coded under our new system. This overhaul is one of the first results of this re-write project, but there are more to come!

Damage bonuses are now additive, rather than multiplicative.

So, for example, if your base max hit is 60 and you have..

  • +37.5% damage bonus from a BSH
  • +10% damage from a wanderer's amulet
  • +7.5% damage from crestbearer top
  • +7.5% damage from crestbearer legs
  • +7.5% damage bonus from a blood totem lantern

The way your new max hit would be calculated before / after is..

OLD FORMULA (Multiplicative)

60 x 1.375 x 1.10 x 1.075 x 1.075 x 1.075 = 112.7 = 113 new max hit

NEW FORMULA (Additive): 

60 x (1.0 + .375 + .10 + .075 + .075 + .075) = 102 new max hit

Like the example, this mostly affects PvM because the difference between additive & multiplicative increases based on the number of bonuses you have. And with PvM items, there are by far more damage bonuses that can be stacked than there is with PvP.

We understand that this may upset some of you due to the decrease in damage, but please keep in mind this scales down everything. Not just one specific item, nor with any specific magnitudes. It will also provide us much more room for adding new exciting powerful gear in future updates, now that power creep has been scaled down.

With that being said, we've still decided to buff to the following items coincide with these changes:

  • Ursine chainmace (in wilderness)
  • Webweaver bow (in wilderness)
  • Accursed sceptre (in wilderness)
  • Crestbearer armor pieces
  • Crestbearer robe pieces
  • Lunarhide pieces
  • Blood reaper scythe
  • Frosty twisted bow
