Ryan 315 Posted July 19, 2021 Summer Event Improvements Soaker backpacks Soaker backpacks (T1-T3) can be purchased at the Summer essence shop Backpacks require you to have the soaker arm-cannon of their respective tier unlocked, and the previous tier backpack unlocked before purchasing. These backpacks increase the damage dealt by your soaker arm-cannon, and also increase token drops from roaming spirits (stacks with other token boosts, like elixirs and event hunter gear) Tier 1: Increases soaker damage by +15% and roaming spirit token drops by +10% Tier 2: Increases soaker damage by +25% and roaming spirit token drops by +50% Tier 3: Increases soaker damage by +35% and roaming spirit token drops by 2X Lunar & Solar demon demi-bosses (instanced) Every PK has an uncommon chance to drop a stackable and tradeable "Summer totem" Once you collect 5x summer totems, you can take them to the Skotizo portal (revenant caves) to spawn into a Lunar & Solar demon instanced boss fight This solo instanced duo-boss introduces some unique mechanics Both demons will take turns attacking you (magic / ranged) Once one demon dies, the surviving demon will become "enraged", sending rapid fire meteor attacks (typeless damage) that must be tile-evaded Both demons have a guaranteed chance to drop a decent stack of tokens, a chance for greater stacks, and a very rare chance for an event coin! Summer demon (wildy boss) Every 2 hours, the "Summer demon" will spawn in a wilderness location Any player who deals a fair amount of damage (and is within 25 tiles of the boss during its death) will receive a drop Potential locations that it may spawn are: Outside of Rogue's castle Slightly north of Lava dragons Slightly south of Callisto Drops include a guaranteed 2,500 summer tokens, spirit essence, and cash bags Uncommons and rares are similar to superior summer spirits Miscellaneous changes / tweaks The chance to encounter a Superior summer spirit is now almost doubled Added a summer token drop bonus (+50) for bounty hunter target kills, stackable with hotspot kill bonus Increased summer essence drop rates for uncommon, rare, and superior summer spirits Increased the chance for lunar-hide pieces from the Summer 2020 casket You can now type shortcut ::e instead of ::event to view activies and timers Raised the cost of the Unholy behemoth pet fusion from 3x to 5x Solar behemoth pets We want to keep this fusion rare, but with this update we expect token rates to increase (and thus behemoth pets in-game) Between choosing to close the fusion or making it more expensive for the remaining duration of the event, we decided to go with the latter. Reduced the phase III damage of Unholy behemoth pet from +20% to +15% Rest assured, the +15% bonus still hits most damage caps for a lot of weapons across the board Gameplay changes & QoLs Death pet change (passed poll) We appreciate everyone's votes on our discord poll to help bring this into fruition! The new death pet effect change works as follows: Death pet +1 protects your 2ND most valuable risked item on death (but if risking a master+ blood orb, your #1 most valuable) (This includes all death pet fusions) Shade genie pet's +2 will be your 2ND and 3RD most valuable risked item There is now a warning that will be sent to players chatboxes when equipping or logging in with a death pet, notifying them of this change/update Players can simply click "do not show me this warning again" if it becomes an annoyance The "Items kept on death" interface will now show you which item(s) the death pet is protecting with a small death icon next to the item PJ Timers (1v1 singles) After many talks with the community on our public Discord, it's been made clear that SPK's single zone PKing needed to be looked into For a while now, deep wild singles has had a PJ timer of about 4 ticks (2.4 seconds) which is far too low for any fair chance of 1v1 fights, etc. To provide some perspective, items such as Elder maul have an attack delay of 7 ticks This means that between maul hits, another player could jump in before the second hit and interrupt the fight! As of now, we've made the following changes: Edgeville wild now has an 8 second PJ timer Non-edgeville singles wild (deep wild, pure zone, etc.) now has a 6 second PJ timer This change should bring about far more consistency in 1v1 fights, with far less legroom for other players / spectators to interrupt fights Areas such as LMS, Kharazi, EdgePvP, etc. still have the same PJ timers as before (they were all fairly long already) Edgeville PKing Similar to the PJ timers, we spoke with community members to figure out how to improve the Edgeville PKing experience. Based on feedback, we've gone with the following edgeville-specific changes: Elysian spirit shield soak effect has been removed in Edgeville Tektonic soak ability has been halved in Edgeville Dharok is now less accurate at mid-tier hitpoints in Edgeville Added an "Edgeville pking" daily moneymaking task Miscellaneous / Other Increased the Killjoy reward from 1/3 of streak (in bags) to 1/2 of streak, with a 50B cap Made several improvements to the statuette system to provide more profitable PKing: Increased the GP reward for Tier 1-2 statuettes by up to 5X Increased the GP reward for Tier 3 statuettes by up to 5X Improved the chances to receive a Tier 3 statuette Improved the chances to receive a Tier 4 statuette (Blood statuettes, enchanted, eternal, etc.) Added a more severe hit cap for the Brackish blade special attack (40-15-15 -> 75 total) Added a 35-35 (70) hit cap to the dragon knives special attack Removed the 99 HP cap for soulsplit/blood-healing (with HP boosting gear) for PVM ONLY (this cap still applies in PvP combat) Reduced most of the kill count requirements from the Daily Challenge system (achievement tab) More bloodcore pool sinks: Added Blade of Saeldor to the Bloodcore token synthesis Added Lava tentacles to the Bloodcore token synthesis Added Frost tentacles to the Bloodcore token synthesis Removed the bleed effect from Inquisitor mace/maul in ::edgepvp Added ::commands, linking to Bsouth's command list guide on the forums!
