MacBook Air can’t open client

Recommended Posts

I have a MacBook Air and everytime I open the client it opens for a second then says exec over the file and  closes the window.  Shown in the bottom right

Hey @2WISTED,

Alot of MAC users are having issues with starting up the client. I've forwarded it to Ryan already, he'll take a look at it.

in the meantime, can you please try this;

1. Close your client

2. Open terminal

3. Enter the following command:

"rm -R ~/.spawnpk"

4. Bless up

5. Load your client again

Also do this:

1. Open command prompt (windows start button, type cmd in search)

2. Enter:

"setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"

3. Reload the client!

neither of those worked i looked into it a bit this is what google says

Documents appearing as 'Exec' files can be down to a combination of not having an Application installed that is compatible with those files, or the files not having a valid file extension, or both.

Anything back from ryan? I’m still unable to load the client and I’ve tried everything suggested

Do you have both Java and the SDK installed? On Mac you'll need both to run java clients via java, otherwise your mac won't pick it up.
