    Theatre of Blood [In-depth]

SpawnPK: Theatre of Blood Guide A very profitable activity and somewhat intensive activity, I was requested to make a guide and I'm currently sitting at 1118 KC. Section 1: Gear advice and upgrade path You're expected to Tribrid when necessary, strategy will be covered in Section 2. Obviously the raid is easier with better gear; and higher difficulties are going to take longer, but the rewards are greater. Entry-level gear guide: Helm: Coloured Slayer Helm Amulet: Torture/Occult/Anguish Cape: Blood Cape Torso: Vesta's/Bloodmancer/Kharazi Legs: Vesta's/Bloodmancer/Kharazi Gloves: Karamja3/Tormented Bracelet/Swift Gloves Boots: Devout Boots Ring: Ring of Vigour Weapons: Vesta's Spear/Kodai Wand & Tome of Frost & Trident of the Swamp/Toxic Blowpipe Mid-level gear guide: Helm: Fused Slayer Helm Amulet: Torture(or)/Occult(or)/Anguish(or) Cape: Completionist Cape(1,2,3)/Imbued God Cape/Ava (t) Torso: Tectonic/Ancestral/Kharazi Legs: Tectonic/Ancestral/Kharazi Gloves: Goliath/Tormented Bracelet/Swift Gloves Boots: Devout Boots Ring: Ring of Vigour Weapons: Scythe of Vitur/Kodai Wand & Tome of Frost & Sanguinesti Staff/Twisted Bow & Blowpipe High-level gear guide: Helm: Lava Slayer Helmet/Frost Slayer Helmet/Earth Slayer Helmet OR Crestbearer Amulet: Torture(or)/Xerician Pendant/Xerician Pendant Cape: Infernal Cape/Imbued God Cape/Ava's Assembler Torso: Crestbearer/Ancestral/Crestbearer Legs: Crestbearer/Ancestral/Crestbearer Gloves:Ferocious/Tormented Bracelet/Swift Gloves Boots: Devout Boots Ring: Elderblood Ring Weapons: Blood Reaper Scythe/ Cursed Ancient Staff & Tome of Frost & Sanguinesti Staff (e) / Frosty Twisted Bow & Blowpipe End-game gear guide: Helm: Crestbearer/Frost Slayer Helmet/Crestbearer Amulet: Torture(or)/Xerician Pendant/Xerician Pendant Cape: Infernal Cape/Imbued God Cape/Ava's Assembler Torso: Crestbearer/Sorceror's/Crestbearer Legs: Crestbearer/Sorceror's/Crestbearer Gloves: Enchanted Gloves Boots: Enchanted Boots Ring: Elderblood Ring (i) Weapons: Blood Reaper Scythe/Nightmare Staff (Volatile) & Tome of Frost(i) & Sanguinesti Staff (e) / Frosty Twisted Bow & Swift Bow Pet purchase prioritising path (PPPP): (Mystical) Tekton>Vasa>Bork>Maiden>Xarpus>Bloat>Berserk Phoenix>Verzik>Nylocas *To date, I don't see any effect on Nylocas, and Verzik only seems to work on Verzik Phase 2. Utility: TzFrozt-Jad - Extends Freeze duration, useful for maiden spawns Tome of Frost - Increases Ice Spell damage by 40% Statius Warhammer>Dragon Warhammer - Drains Defence by % on ANY hit Bandos Godsword - Drains defence by level based on hit Elemental Crossbow (Earth Bolts) / Solar Dark Bow - Drains defence by level based on half of hit Frosty Twisted Bow / Toxic Blowpipe - Useful healing special attack Blood Ghrazi Rapier - Useful passive healing from damage dealt Special Restore - Potion for restoring Special Attack to 100% every 30 seconds. Enchanted Heart - Provides all heart effects plus a stamina pot every 45 seconds Dawnbringer - Can be obtained from skeleton before Verzik room. Only weapon that hurts phase 1 effectively Rune Pouch or Bound Rune Pouch - Provides all runes, unlimited (You will most likely only use Blood / Ice Barrage) Raid Pets ( Boss specific ) - Deal an additional 25% Damage in the boss room Devout Boots - Restore Prayer Points when you use Smite prayer, high prayer bonus Elderblood Ring - Bonus 10% Damage and Accuracy on Blood Weaponry (Primarily used for Blood Reaper Scythe) Xerician Pendant - Acts as both Occult (or) and Anguish (or) Swift Gloves - Chance of firing an extra shot with Ranged Why do I carry a spell staff and a trident type staff? To cast faster on Nylocas, him switching forms can take up a lot of time with you having to switch prayer and gear. You need to get in attacks as fast as possible, you also want a spell staff to deal as much damage as possible elsewhere (Maiden healer spawns). Blood Perks: Get Death's Accomplice (Executes monsters below 30% HP across the game rarely), Vampyric Damage and Vampyric Accuracy. Section 2: The Strategy Entering the raid, Maiden of Sugadinti - Run north through the portal, pray against magic attacks and approach Maiden to drain her defence (SWH>DWH & BGS). She will use a default magic attack as well as spraying blood splatters at you, it's recommended to move when you see her attack incoming. Standing in the blood splatters will deal high damage and spawn a Bleeding Crab which makes more blood splatters in a trail as it walks. At 70%, 50% and 30% she will spawn 2 sets of 2 healer crabs on each side. Once they reach her, she will heal for higher amounts depending on the difficulty. You should prepare to freeze these before they are visible. Let the first (closest) set of crabs get in line with the crab closest to the middle. Freeze them and freeze the second set on top, then kill them with Ice Barrage The healers spawned at 70%, 50% and 30% will not spawn again if the boss is healed above these threshholds. Once Maiden is dead, return the way you came and take a left to enter the next room. Second boss, Bloat - A simple, but very punishing boss. Do not be in his line of sight, or else he will deal consistent damage to you which chains to nearby players. He will walk around in a square, break line of sight with the central pillar. During this time, hands will fall down around the area praying against Ranged attacks will reduce the damage of these to 0, but they will still stun you. Not praying means that they'll hit 40-55 damage. After a while, he will stop walking and seemingly fall asleep. He will wake up again, but you can get some hits on him for approximately 15 seconds, if you are in his sight while he wakes up, you will take heavy damage, enough to 2-3 hit you. Make sure you break line of sight early. It's possible to hit Bloat as he goes around corners (Chasing him from behind), this may take some practise but you can stop yourself before you walk far enough to take damage. Very good for speeding up the room, don't be afraid to teach yourself! Repeat until dead, enter the next room. Third room, Nylocas - A gauntlet themed room where a lot of enemies will spawn, when enough are killed a boss will spawn. This room has one crucial mechanic to remember. If a spider is a certain colour, it can only be damaged with a certain attack style- Attacking the boss with the wrong style will reflect all damage back to you (most of the time one shotting you). A strategy to bare in mind is standing in the corner right of the entrance with the player(s) praying against Magic attacks. Then you prioritize killing Green (Ranged) spiders, then the Grey (Melee) spiders. Once you have no more Melee or Range spawning, Barrage down the Blue (Magic) spiders. At this point the boss should spawn, he will rapidly change his colour and as said earlier he'll reflect all damage back to the attacker if attacked with the wrong style. Return the way you came and enter the next room. Fourth Boss, Xarpus - Xarpus is a boss that's all about timing and awareness. He'll attack with either Ranged or Magic. He always attacks with Ranged when you first enter and will shift to Magic by saying "Magia Transitum!" and back to Ranged with "Arti sagittariorium transitum!". While doing this, he'll randomly fire poison around the room and at the player. This poison behaves in a similar way to Maiden's blood splats, don't stand in it. If you are hit by it, you will be poisoned for a very long time (you can use potions to remove it's effect). The strategy is to enter the room together and rotate anti-clockwise together, avoid moving away from the 1 square the group is on and do not move early, it's better that you move late. Rotate as the hits come in, you will memorise the timing. You will have to switch protection prayers (Ranged & Magic) every 5 direct attacks from Xarpus. Straight ahead, pick up Dawnbringer from the Skeleton before Verzik's door before moving on. Final challenge, Verzik - This fight has 3 phases Phase 1 - Verzik can only be damaged by Dawnbringer, obtained from the Skeleton in the room prior (After Xarpus). She will continually launch typeless damage at the player capable of 1-hit KO, you must break line of sight (Similar to Bloat), however this time with pillars that gradually take damage and are destroyed. It is recommended to move as the final hit on that pillar comes in. After a few (or maybe even one pillar), she will be 0% HP and Phase 2 will begin. Phase 2 - The bomb phase, she will launch bombs capable of around 50 damage at where the player is standing, these can be dodged by moving as soon as she performs the attack animation. During this time she will spawn Ranged and Melee Nylocas- These aren't a particular threat. Heal up if you need it and avoid the bombs at all costs. Phase 3 - This is the final phase, Verzik switches between magic and ranged attacks exactly how Xarpus did. She will aggro one player at random. She also attacks with Melee before these attacks, and will hit all players in range. You can prayer flick both of these attacks. Pray Melee and then Ranged or Magic, and back to Melee for the next hits. Slog her down to 20% HP, at which point she'll spawn tornadoes which will chase you around the room. Do not stand still as these are capable of killing you in a couple of seconds. Once Verzik reaches 0% HP, return to the door you entered by and use the gate to enter the treasure room, do a lap anti-clockwise for good luck and clockwise for bad luck for your teammates- Loot the chest on the left and escape with your goodies! I hastily scraped this together in the late night, probably has some mistakes here and there. Hope this helps at least one person! Leave any feedback below. Best of luck!
