    This is true.

Where the sole purpose of "ragging" is to prevent someone else from pking as opposed to getting a kill, it is hard to imagine it is a 'pk style' since 'pking' involves actual killing - which ragging rarely ever achieves.

Rushing on the other hand, is done with intention to land a kill, and often times does result in landing a kill.

This doesn't imply a suggestion to do anything, I am still in support of freedom for players. However, a pk blacklist for edgeville would be a plausible solution.

Hi mate. I think since this post was last commented on there has been a new rule in place that makes ragging against the rules (although I can't remember if this is only in Edgeville or elsewhere in the wild too), therefore I don't think a blacklist command is really necessary at the moment

because you said 90% droprate of 5000 is 2632? srsly dude are you trolling?

No. A 90% drop rate does not mean what you think it means. Are you suggesting that because 450 is 90% of 500 that the rate at 90% DRB would be 1/50 instead of 1/500? Because that's what doesn't make sense (because in this case, a 100% DRB would mean that you were always guaranteed to get the loot).

Instead, your drop rate BONUS is added onto your normal drop rate (as in 1). So at 90% DRB you now have 1.9 times the chance of receiving an item than someone with 0% DRB (because 1+0.9=1.9).

This means your chance at 0% DRB is 1/500 is translated to 1.9/500 at a 90% DRB.

    1.9/500=0.0038.

    1/0.0038=263.2

Ergo your 1/500 rate at 0% DRB is now a 1/263.2 rate at 90% DRB.

1/5000 drop turns into 1/500 drop with 90% DRB.

Surely better than avarice(i) users (four of them) getting around 20-25 dragon upgrade scrolls since pvp treasures were added to rev caves

    No, a 1/5000 drop with a 90% DRB turns into a 1/2632 drop.

    100% + 90% = 1.9

    5000/1.9 = 2632

honestly I don't believe making newer players slightly less strong will have that much of an impact. As it stand even with their ability to hit high, if you're up against me with my tektonic zbow dclaws (or) you're 99% sure to die anyway. Whether your cap is an 80 or a 73. It'll just feel more balanced overall towards everyone. As far as I can see most new players don't pk in the first place but rather go to pvm and stuff like that.

On the other hand it would just make OTHER weapons more viable. At this point players can literally vote for 2bil+ in straight cash which is enough to buy a statius warhammer or a VLS, so they'd already have a head start anyway. I do believe some higher end weapons should be buffed when it comes to max hits anyway (example blessed sara sword or elemental dagger have a WAY lower max hit cap than the stat hammer or ags which are so much cheaper in the first place).

All with all making other weapons more viable through the upgrades of gear and things like that would just be a good starting point.

And with this you're going to start making concious choices between a torso and a torags platebody, between bandos tassets and other tank legs. It'll over all influence the game a lot more, and its not like these gear upgrades are out of reach anyway.

I definitely agree with getting rid of the max hits. I would much prefer my max hits to be based off my gear than capped at some arbitrary number.

It's often pointless making a gear upgrade from bandos to cursed obsidian when your max hits aren't affected

im not saying to remove max hit caps though. The idea would be that u need adiquite gear to reach the cap.

So welfare ags would be like around a 73 max but in vesta prims torture etc u could get to that 80 cap, and gear even better than that will just boost accuraccy so to say.

Yes, I get what you mean. I agree, this would be a good suggestion. However, to do this you'd need to change the strength bonuses of lots of weapons I'd imagine - AGS couldn't remain at 132 like we're used to. On OSRS a player in our 'spawnable' gear would be able to hit 80 too.

How could we do this without making new players totally unequipped for pking?

Lmao, you don't understand how many people don't even look at this forum if you cant tell how dead this forum is.

Let's do a bit of math here this server probably averages around 300-400 players counting a full day not all at once.  Only 49 players voted. That's only 10% of the player base who voted. Lmao

This topic  has been brought up multiple times and it never goes anywhere, Ryan isn't gonna go piss off the veterans of his server just to make some cry baby new players happy

Surely, if anything, the players who are most likely to have forum accounts would be veteran players. Case in point: you and I having a chat here.

With this in mind, if everyone were to vote the results would be skewed even more in favour of banning ragging.

If i understand the word right, ragging is basically when you constantly try and interrupt a specific person's fight in singles or rushing the same guy over and over again?

It wouldn't count as ragging if someone is being attacked in singles but tries to run and someone else pjs just to save his friend or random for that matter.

Yep, that's what I meant when I started the poll. PJing a fight once, or even rushing, would be within the hypothetical new rules, but repeatedly attacking the same player/interrupting their fights/rushing the same guy over and over etc. would not be within the hypothetical new rules.
