    I understand what you mean. I have been playing on private servers for over 10 years. I'm an introvert and more of a "be seen, not heard" type of player - which is probably why I find forum usage just as time-consuming as playing the game. I'm not sure what situations occurred while on Discord but I've used it for awhile now and have had no privacy issues. Was your server not setup properly? I suppose that's irrelevant. I believe a staff team isn't solid unless it has solid communication and I believe this is crucial. I can imagine some of the players here are wild since it's a PK server and we all know what that means..

    Thank you very much Kellatha. I was thinking rather than Ryan approving or denying individual threads, the community comes together and decides whether a suggestion is worthy of a suggestion. If the suggestion gets enough support, a Forum Mod or Admin will then tag it and move it to the appropriate section so Ryan doesn't have to. After that, it's up to Ryan to decide whether he will add the [Accepted] suggestion to SPK for future implementation. What do you think? Edit: A major issue to this is that I've noticed the forum community isn't all that active. We need to find ways of getting the community to interact on the forum to make this viable.

    It's not that I think applicants are picked based on the feedback. I believe staff considers applicants based off the feedback of others as well. Yes, I do believe there is some influence there.

    Here's my take on it. Staff applications work because they provide a way for the community to give feedback toward the applicant which is then in the hands of the staff team to accept or deny. In my opinion, applicants, when accepted, should have their applications moved to a sub-forum within Staff Applications and it should be private. What I mean is when a member applies for a position, their application is viewable to the public until they are accepted or denied - which is when their app becomes private. Also, I think the application format is not strict enough. The format has basic information and doesn't allow the applicant to show enough interest. If an icon next to their name is the applicant's overall goal, it's simply not enough information to filter that. Being a staff member is a volunteer service and needs to be treated with care when choosing players to help keep its integrity in tact. When players provide feedback to the applicant, they should express constructive criticism on the user's activity, willingness to help, et cetera. Here is what the application looks like: 1. Desired staff position: 2. Your name (first name would suffice): 3. Your age: 4. Your location: 5. Average amount of gameplay hours per day: 6. Why you should receive the position: Here is what the application SHOULD look like: SPK Username: Do you have access to Discord: Yes/No Discord Tag: Example: Name#50505 Fluent Languages: English required Time Zone: Have you ever held a staff position before? Yes/No Enter Location(s): How long were you there? What were your responsibilities? Are you still there? If not, why not? How much time do you spend on SPK weekly? Time spent logged in (photo evidence): Have you ever been infracted (forums or game) on SPK? If so, explain why: What do you like the most about SPK? Why would you like to be a staff member? What skills or unique qualities could you offer to SPK's staff team? What do you expect to get out of being staff on SPK? What are two qualities of a member of the staff team? Explain why. As you can see, this format almost forces the player to put thought and interest into it. It's not just a "hey, I want staff too!" formatting. I also believe Discord is a great way for the staff team to communicate efficiently and get to know each other rather than just be another member with an icon helping others. If the community wants growth, it needs to allow it. The guidelines need reworked as well. The requirements are dull. You must be an active member of the server for at least 30 days. You must have no history of any rule-breaking for at least 30 days. Dependent on rule broken. You must be proficient in English. Keep it professional Decent grammar (utilize punctuation, capitalizations, etc.) Gambling is not prohibited for moderators but it is preferred to be kept at a minimum. Should be active in-game; 4-6 hours a day on average is preferred. Exceptions may occur. Must be relatively active on the forums You must have an attitude of friendliness, respectfulness and minimal flaming. We understand that the competitive nature of PK servers may lead to some situations with flaming. As long as they're infrequent and mild you should still qualify. These guidelines is something I'd like to see for a community that boasts 100+ online at anytime: Applicants will not post an application if they do not meet the requirements. Applicants will not comment on other applications 24 hours before they apply. Applicants will not comment on other applications during the time they have an application awaiting review. Applicants will take the application seriously, if not they will be suspended from the application process. Applicants will not create another topic in this board until their application is handled. Applicants must have a Discord account. Applicants must take a picture of their in-game time. Applicant's account must be created 14 days before they apply. Applicant's account must have 25 forum posts (non-spam). Applicants must have a total of 5 days of logged in time on their account. Applicants are not allowed to have any warning points on their account. Applicants are not allowed to link their application to other users or tell them to support their application. If your application is declined you are not allowed to post another one for 10 days. It absolutely does not matter if it's a spawn server, pvp server, pvm server, et cetera. The community is obviously active and excellent communication and a strong staff team is vital to its future. Nobody will ever change my opinion on this. This is not my first rodeo. That's my $0.02!

Add Members Viewing This Thread module Bug reports No matter how minor or major submitted bugs are, members should only be allowed to view their OWN bug reports. This is crucial for both integrity and privacy. Once a bug report is submitted, a member of staff (Forum/Global/Admin) should acknowledge it and move it to handled (completed) so the development team can find it easily and make appropriate fixes/changes. As I mentioned, don't take this personally. I feel extremely confident in these suggestions with no doubts that these improvements will also help with population and forum interaction.     This is a valid point and I completely agree. Copying the links and putting them into the the thread without compromising the topic took way longer than it should have. Shortly afterwards, I then found that posting the edited topic occasionally then re-editing made the process refresh and much easier. My reasoning for creating the format I have was for the staff team to better decide which content would be implemented. There are 32 pages of suggestions and hardly any confirmed responses for implementation. There needs to be tags created for suggestions and staff needs to go through all 32 pages and decide whether they have community support, or in the very least, are worthy of implementation. There could be a couple of options here. Option 1 would be to Create a sub-forum in General > Suggestions > Handled with tags [Approved] or [Denied] General Suggestions Handled Suggestions Option 2 would be to create two sub-forum in General > Suggestion > Approved Suggestions + Denied Suggestions General Suggestions Approved Suggestion Denied Suggestions Tag > Topic > User (Example) [Approved] New DZ Boss - Started by Player A I can add written descriptions of the suggestions to this thread. This doesn't take away from the fact that there are still 32 pages of suggestions (some locked for obvious reason) that aren't being looked at by the staff team that remain open.

    Hi there!

    Hi everyone! I go by the name of Lisp and I've been playing on RSPS for a very, very long time. My intro will be short and sweet. You'll catch me around the community but more importantly, you'll be seeing a lot of me on the forum as I am a big forum fan. I have a lot of suggestions and ideas and would love to contribute since I've noticed the mass potentional. Looking forward to meeting new people and becoming apart of the community. Hopefully you'll welcome me with open arms! I've played SPK for a few hours now and I really enjoyed my time here. There are a few things that I've observed within the forum alone that could use some attention and I plan to suggest ways to make it easier for the staff team to filter/organize. I'm not here for a staff position. I'm here to contribute and help around as a player, much like you.
