    Autokeep Items

    Since 'Cursed Void' was added into the game, I've seen some debates spark in which players were debating whether or not certain items needed or did not need a repair cost tied to them, and if the player the person died to needed to be rewarded. The idea was circulating that upon death, an X% of the repair-cost should be awarded to the surviving player, I'd like to have input from the community to discuss the most viable option. Before we spark a debate, let's review that stats of Cursed Obsidian Armor and a variety of other armor sets: - Cursed Obsidian Armor - - 'Starter' Armor - - Bandos Armor - - Completionist II armor - - Completionist III armor - - Statius' Armor - - Vesta's Armor - If you were too lazy to examine the armor and review it's bonusses, below you'll find a list in order of best defensive and offensive bonusses: Defensive: Vesta > Statius > Cursed > Completionist III > Bandos > Starter > Completionist II Offensive: Vesta > Statius , other comparisons are hard to make, since the other armors dont give any positive attack bonuses. So meaning, cursed armor, although it is free (after using your Cursed Relic on the Obsidian Armor pieces) it has more defensive bonusses than completionist 3 armor. My own opninion is that it, in its current state, it should not be better than Completionist III armor (since you have to complete ALL of the achievements) or bandos (since bandos is not free). If there was a repair cost attached to the cursed obsidian, its place would be rigtheous. ============================================================================================================================ Void armor set Moving on to the 'Cursed Void', we have to look at its stats before making a valid opinion. - Cursed Void - Imagine might be stolen from the youtube channel : NotYourAverageNoob - Elite Void- - Regular Void - Comparing the void sets versus each other the same way we did with the Cursed Obsidian comparisons we get the following: Offensive: Cursed Void = Elite Void > Regular Void Defensive: Cursed Void > Elite Void > Regular Void Keeping in mind that Elite Void comes at a repair cost of 100M each piece, and 'Cursed Void' has no repair cost, the order might seem strange. (Keep in mind that Cursed Void requires you to use the 'Cursed Void Ornament Kit' on the pieces) My own opinion is that the 'Cursed Void' should come at a repair cost as well, pricing it at 150M each piece would not seem to strange to me, since the cursed void has 50% more defensive stats than the Elite Void (which is 100M each piece). ============================================================================================================================ Ornament Kits Ornament kits are a bit of a hard topic, because, let's say you take the occult (or): The occult (or) give more magic bonus then the spawnable amulet of fury, but it gives less defensive bonusses and the fury gives bonusses in more different attack styles. So if you are NHing for instance and you want to switch to ranged, the occult is not a viable amulet, so you need an amulet switch, thereby losing a slot in which you could've put another item that gave range bonus as well (i.e. the dragonfire ward). You can ofcourse bring both items, but that would result in more switching, and therefor making it harder to use. So in my opinion, that approximately evens out. But ofcourse, I'd like to hear different opinions.

    Daily Tournament

    Daily Tournaments The idea for daily tournaments was presented to me by 'Lemon Ice', the idea is pretty simple, you pay fee (to be determined), you fight, and you either win or lose. The location that would seem to be most fitting for hosting these tournaments would be ClanWars. Considering there are three portals, it would seem fitting to change one or two of the existing portal to the 'Tournament Portal(s)'. These tournaments would be held at a set time once a day. The minimal amount of people participating would be 7, it'll be later explained why. Tournaments that could be hosted could include, but are not limited: To enter the 'Tournament-Portal', you need to have the fee, and only the fee in your inventory. Other items or pets will not be allowed to enter. Tournament Supplies Upon paying your fee you can enter the portal where you will be able to select your items using the following interface like in OSRS. (The interface above is from OSRS, it just serves as an example of what the chest interface can/should look like) Let's say you are entering a Dharoks Tournament, the supply chest would only allow you to take items that are assigned to be used, the same goes for the other types of tournaments obviously. Considering some items that you need in a Dharoks fight (and other fights) are unspawnable, leaving using the portal or dying in the tournament will result in your inventory and setup getting emptied, so the items won't flow in the economy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Since people have paid fee's to enter the tournament, something should be gained upon placing in the top 3, the distribution of the prize money would look something like this: 1. 45% of the total paid fee + Tournament Token* 2. 25% of the total paid fee 3. 15% of the total paid fee The minimal amount of players would be required to be 7, if you had less people performing, then getting 3rd place would result in you losing money. Maths are found below if someone is interested. Tournament token Upon winning a tournament, the winner will receive a Tournament Token on top of the cash he has won. The tournament token is an untradeable token which can be used at the magic chest and it has a 10% chance of receiving the Tournament Cape (Team-Cape X) which will be untradeable and autokeep. This cape would have +10 bonus on melee styled attacks, and +11 strength bonus (same as red completionist cape, but -1 compared to infernal cape). This cape is more of an item to show off then to be overpowered, therefor it shouldn't be on par with the infernal cape.     (0): I think scaling the reward of the item is a better solution, since if someone brings, let's say cursed obsidian, it gives a bigger advantage to the player using completionist armor. If both of them were to be included in the calculation, it should be scaled to the 'power' of the item in my opinion. (1): Yes, i actually forgot about stuff like ethereal mask etc., but since they are barely/never used in PvP they don't need to be added to the list. (2): If you have spent 'hundreds of bills' on an item, would paying 50M (just an example) be such a bad idea? Let's say the ethereal maul contest. You wouldn't wanna spend 50M to bring an elder maul you won't lose even though it gives you a HUGE advantage? (3): I forgot to include the ava (t), infernal cape etc etc, but what can be made into a max cape should've been included on the list (except ofcourse the spawnable variant(s)). I just thought expanding the list with max capes might've been a good idea to give players the opportunity to vote on most of the untradeable items at the moment. I just think that for new players, the server can be quite un-enjoyable, take a look at the stats of the cursed obby versus the starter-gear, the difference is enormous, and even if a new player is able to take someone using cursed obby down, they don't get rewarded for it. Putting effort into something should be rewarded, and all of these 'free' autokeep items discourage that.

Only reason I can think of is that perhaps during coding, Ryan accidently made the capes Leg+ when he was coding it so legendary donators don't have to have the maxed skills. requirement. - Hooke

    Since recently an announcement for 1x Blood Diamond, and 1x Blood Shard has be introduced, I was wondering what the logic is behind showing someone getting 1 blood shard as a drop. I got Elemental Completionist cape not too long ago, and I think that if the yell shows someone getting 1 blood shard, it would be fair to show people obtaining red comp and/or ele comp since that is a way bigger achievement

    If getting an AGS drop from KBD can be on the news, which happens way more often and isn't an achievement at all, then I think having an announcement for obtaining completionist I, II and III isn't too far-fetched.
  18. Nice update! May I suggest a command that gets rid of the 'magic sickness' though? Since you can be out of the wildernerss and still have 4 minutes left on the effect and you can't do anything about it. Since ::untb is a command, ::unsick (or something along those lines) seems fitting to me.

    Ascendency Helper Application

    I have personally not seen you actively help players in game (as in; not over yell), but I can be wrong. I think that the main reason that your application can/should be denied is the fact that you seems to have arguments over yell quite frequently. I can't say that I've seen other staffmembers go into heavy arguments over yell, but then again, I'm not online 247 so I could be wrong. Helper seems to me like some kind of 'moderator trial', you would probably be a fitting candidate, if you would minimize the arguments over yell (and in other forms of chat obviously). If you minimize the arguments over yell and in game in general, +1 from me.

    Wilderness Rejuvination

    Myself and our clan have noticed that the bosses in the wilderness are starting to get less active week after week, clans might be the core of the issue, but I'd figure I throw in some ideas that might have a positive influence on the amount of players going in the wilderness. Avatar of Destruction; Mechanics: A prayer draining/penetrating melee attack that will affect all that are nearby. Drops: Common: Blood Money, Tokhaar-Kal, Donator Ticket Uncommon: Special Restore (4), Point Mystery Box Rare: Special Restore (4) (x10), Donator ticket (500), (Perhaps multiple or single amount(s) of AGS's or Claws), Primordial Boots, Statius/Vesta armorpieces Extra rare: Lava Whip, Infernal Axe/Pickaxe, Korasi's Sword As for the position in the Wilderness I would suggest it being in a multi zone, that is nearby a single zone, so clans get a limited window of time to kill people killing it: Red Indicating the placement of the AoD (Avator of Destruction), and Blue indicating the multiline that is present (west of the line is singles, east is multi) Locating the boss around this place would seem fitting to me, adding a new teleport to it wouldn't seem necessary to me, since there is already a teleport to Demonic Gorilla's and Kraken, having no direct teleport to it would give the PvMing players a good way of seeing pkers running in, and they also have 2 teleport to reach it easily, so a clan would have to camp 2 spots in order to keep people from killing AoD. Kalphite Queen; Mechanics: Preferably the ones that are also used in OSRS, since that would prevent players from AFK'ing the boss. Drops: Common: Blood Money, Coins, Donator Tickets Uncommon: Point Mystery Box, Dragon Javelin Rare: Armadyl Armor, Bandos Armor, Pegasian Boots Extra rare: Light Ballista (This would result in implementing a defensive requirement to wear the heavy ballista), Dragon Warhammer, Morrigan Armor I would recommend for this boss to be in a singles area, since it has similiar mechanics as the Demonic Gorilla's (You need to bring 2 attack styles), The region inside the blue box is multi, outside is singles (more multilines are present, but I figured these ones would be the most relevant), the reason for placing this boss at this location is the fact that players that bring an amulet of eternal glory can still get away easily, players who don't can't. Also locating the boss at this area might give the obelisks a use apart from escaping. You can also get here in a couple of ways, ::dg, ::graves, ::gd, therefor I don't think a direct teleport to this boss will be needed. Chaos Fanatic; This (demi-)boss would complete the trinity of range, melee and mage bosses. Mechanics: Same as chaos elemental Drops: Common: Coins, Blood Money Uncommon: Elemental Javelin (1x), Point Mystery Box, Special Restore (4) Rare: Elemental Javelin (x5), Staff of the Dead, Dagganoth Rings (i), Ring of Vigour Extra Rare: Elemental Weapon shards*, Elemental Javelin (30x), Elemental Weapons, Chaos Elemental Pet *Since the Chaos Fanatic is meant as a demi-boss and thus will be killed relatively quickly, if possible, I'd like to see some sort of Elemental Weapon Shard added to the game, which you need 2 or 3 of to turn in at Mandrith and upon turning them in you will receive a random Elemental Weapon. I'd like to see the boss at the spot below, placing the boss here would give players enough time to respond to incoming threats, apart from perhaps ::44s. Implementing the boss at ::44s will also give players an incentive to make more use of the wilderness obelisks. Since the area is singles clans won't dominate it and escaping is relatively easy using the KBD Lair or the 44s obelisk. I'd love to hear how you would change the bosses I've suggested above, Hooke V2

    PvP Hardpoint (Multi content)

    A gamemode focused on ClanPKing with the purpose of holding a 12x12 square for as long as possible. How would this work? Randomly scattered across the multi parts of the wilderness a 12x12 square will pop-up every 2 - 3 hours which will remain there for 20 minuets, the main focus of this gamemode is to keep your clan inside the square, and the opposing clans out. In doing so you will receive 1 HardPoint for every second you've spent in the square. You can only receive points when your cc is the only cc in the zone. To combat players lowering their levels and keep the opposing clan from gaining points, the 12x12 square should have a 3 - 126 Wilderness situation. To let players be aware of a new zone forming, some kind of yell message would probably be appropiate, maybe announcing it 1 minute before forming. How would this gamemode benefit me? The points your earn from staying in the 12x12 square can be spent at the HardPoint shop in EdgeVille, rewards would be various types of gear and perks. The Shop Say you want to cash in your hard earned points, you can do so at the HardPoint shop. When visiting this shop you are presented with a choice: "Would you like to see my variety of accessoires or my variety of perks?" Let's say you would want to see his variety of items first, his list of items may exist out of the following items: But now let's say you've selected the option to see his perks, a perktree as is already in the game could be fitting for this: An example of some perks could be: Disclaimer The rewards are just examples of things that might be viable to offer to players, but I believe that if the rewards are not good enough, people won't bother utilizing updates after a week, and it will end up as dead content

    I understand your point, but new players seem not motivated enough (dropwise), to go further into the wilderness than edgeville, therefor some PvM incentive might be a viable solution. I've also been thinking about some PvP related suggestions, but adding a lot of PvP updates to a relative small player base would only scatter out people even more. I'm trying to come up with a PvP suggestion that would be viable, but none has come to my mind yet. Sam had a great point and I might work it out a bit to sketch a concept later today.
